12.95 QCM6490 Carwebguru wont change background picture - Glen Cordero - 06-18-2026
I have the new 2026 JY-UTS14N12 head unit and it wont allow me to change the background picture in CARWEBGURU. It works fine on my 2025 10.1.
This is a problem for me as I make my own menus/themes. AI says:
The QCM6490 Snapdragon chip utilizes aggressive hardware graphic overlays that force third-party apps to render backgrounds as pitch black to save GPU rendering cycles.Go to your unit's Android Settings -> System -> About Device. Tap Build Number 7 times to unlock Developer Options. (If prompted for a PIN, use the Joying factory codes 8888 or 3368).Open Developer Options and scroll down to the Drawing/Hardware Accelerated Rendering section.Toggle on Disable HW Overlays (always use GPU for screen compositing).Restart the head unit. This forces the Qualcomm chip to draw the CarWebGuru wallpaper layers correctly instead of blanking them out.
But it wont pull up the Developers options when I try to tap 7 times on the Build number. Does anyone know how to enter the developers menu on this radio? or know how to make it so I can use my own back grounds in Carwebguru?
I love the radio but may have to return it if I can not find a solution.
