Difference between USB ports

On the back of my head unit there are 3 USB ports. One labeled OTG, one below it and one on a short pigtail coming out the back of the unit.

I currently have my Android phone plugged into the bottom USB slot but I'm not sure this is correct. What do the different ports do and which should be used for Android Auto?
